With all the excitement of venturing into Moria there are other areas of change which those of us keen on our crafting will be looking forward too, not only is there a new crafting tier to work away at we also have Craft Guilds to join.

You can only be a member of one craft guild at a time, but choose well, if you swap to another craft guild you loose everything you have gained through being a member of the first guild, so if you change your mind back again you’ll have to start from the beginning again. Once you join you’ll be sent along to the guild hall, I chose to join the jewellers guild and was sent to Esteldin to meet with the guild leader.

To get your hands on the items on offer in the guild you have to build reputation with them, speak to the recipe vendor to get some recipes for the barter items.

Now I haven’t played much with this craft guild but from looking at the recipes and the cool-down times it looks like it isn’t going to be quick to get to the top level in the guild. You make the barter item and then barter it with the guild leader.

So what is the benefit to working your way through the guild? The reward vendor has lots to interest you, well lots of recipes to interest you

All those hard to find, expensive to buy one shot recipes? They’re all here for a fraction of the auction house prices

And what will the fashion conscious Middle Earther be wearing this autumn?
